Sustainable Urban Drainage

Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) is a process by which the speed of water from developed sites is slowed down sufficiently to minimise the risk of flooding downstream. In Wales new legislation under the Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act (FWMA) 2010 requires surface water drainage for new developments to comply with mandatory National Standards for sustainable urban drainage (SuDS).
